| 背面描述 | The reverse displays the moneyer's name DVDA arranged centrally across a horizontal band, framed above and below by double ruled lines within a beaded outer border. Above the central inscription, a cross or ornamental motif is visible, while below the lower rule appears a decorative interlace or stepped pattern, characteristic of Anglo-Saxon die-engraving of the period. The moneyer Duda is otherwise attested on Kentish coinage of this era, confirming the attribution. The layout follows the standard epigraphic reverse type associated with the so-called 'non-portrait' pennies of late 8th-century Kent. The flan is irregularly shaped and slightly concave, consistent with hammered silver coins of this class. |
