| Beschrijving keerzijde | Reverse displays a voided short cross pattée at centre, with a central pellet and pellets in each angle of the cross, all within a double beaded inner circle. The cross is boldly struck in the characteristic style of mid-twelfth-century baronial pennies of the Ornamented group. The moneyer's name is inscribed in two lines in the angles of the cross, arranged in the traditional manner of Anglo-Norman penny reverses. The overall composition is consistent with the York Mint production of the Stephen Civil War period. |
