Beschrijving voorzijde An inverted patriarchal cross occupies the central field, its upper crossbar flanked by four pellets, one in each angle. A circular Latin legend encircles the cross, reading the abbreviated form of Eboracum (York). The design is characteristic of the anonymous Viking coinage struck at York in the late ninth and early tenth centuries, reflecting Scandinavian adaptation of established Anglo-Saxon ecclesiastical imagery. The lettering is angular and somewhat irregular, typical of the hand-cut dies of the period.

Beschrijving keerzijde A small cross pattée is positioned at the centre of the field, with pellets placed in the first and fourth quarters, lending a decorative symmetry to the composition. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, bearing the pious inscription MIRΛBILΛ FECIT, a Psalmic phrase declaring divine wonders. The lettering, though irregular in execution due to hand-engraved dies, follows the epigraphic conventions of late ninth-century Anglo-Scandinavian penny coinage. The overall design draws on Christian iconographic tradition, underscoring the ecclesiastical influence present even within Viking-controlled York.
