Beschrijving keerzijde	The reverse bears a bold, multi-line Latin inscription arranged in three horizontal lines across the field, reading DORO / GERNIA / CIVITA, with pellets and a cross pattée serving as dividers above and below the text. This inscription is the Latinised place-name for Canterbury (Dorobernia Civitas), denoting the city of issue. The lettering is rendered in large, well-formed Roman capitals typical of the Canterbury mint's output during the archiepiscopal coinage of the early ninth century. Pellet stops frame the inscription at the top and bottom, adding decorative punctuation. The die-cutting reflects the accomplished but characteristically irregular hammered technique of the period.
