| Obverse description | Full-face effigy of the lord standing en face, holding an upright sword in his right hand, with a rose ornament upon his chest and the coat of arms of Megen depicted at his feet. The figure is rendered in a crude, medieval hammered style typical of Low Countries billon deniers of the early fifteenth century. The central design is enclosed within an inner pearled circle, with the circumferential legend occupying the field between the inner and outer pearled borders. |
