Henry of Vianden served as Bishop of Utrecht from 1250 to 1267, a tenure defined largely by his confrontations with the counts of Holland and the citizens of Utrecht itself, who periodically expelled him from the city. These small silver pennies were struck at Deventer, one of the few mints reliably under episcopal control during periods when Utrecht itself was politically untenable for him.
