Beschrijving keerzijde	A bold short cross pattee occupies the centre of the coin, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A large pellet is placed in each of the four angles formed by the arms of the cross, giving the design a distinctive symmetrical appearance. The cross arms taper slightly toward the centre and are rendered in high relief characteristic of 11th-century episcopal coinage of the Lower Rhine region. A Latin legend referencing the German king runs along the outer border of the flan.

Aanvullende informatie	Bernold served as Bishop of Utrecht from 1027 until his death in 1054, and his episcopate coincided with the broader consolidation of imperial church power under the Salian dynasty — Henry III's reform agenda gave Lotharingian bishops like Bernold both ecclesiastical authority and the right to mint. The Deventer mint was among the most productive of the Utrecht episcopal moneyers, serving the commercial traffic along the IJssel. The narrow dating to 1046–1054 reflects die study by Ilisch rather than documentary evidence alone.
