Reverse description A short Maltese cross occupies the central field, its arms of equal length terminating in splayed ends. In the four angles formed by the cross arms, stars and the letter M (possibly omega) alternate, creating a symmetrical quartered composition. The design is enclosed within an inner beaded circle, with the mint legend running around the outer border. The overall style is typical of Rhenish-influenced episcopal coinage of the late 12th century.
