Reverse description The Portuguese royal arms displayed on a square-based shield surmounted by an elaborate royal crown with jewelled band and cross finial, the shield charged with the traditional quinas and castle bordure of the kingdom. The arms are flanked by two symmetrical branches — an olive branch to the left and an oak branch to the right — tied at the base with a ribbon bow, forming a wreath-like surround. The motto IN HOC SIGNO VINCES arcs along the upper legend, with the denomination 1 PEÇA inscribed below, all within a toothed outer border.
