Reverse description The Portuguese royal arms displayed within an elaborately decorated baroque cartouche, surmounted by a royal crown with cross finial. The central escutcheon bears the traditional quinas arrangement — five small shields in cross formation each charged with five bezants — all set within the larger shield displaying the castle-and-tower bordure. The cartouche is flanked on either side by square decorative devices and foliate scrollwork, with additional ornamental elements at the base. The plain field surrounding the cartouche is unlettered.
