| Reverse description | Central field displays a floriated or ornate cross pattee with decorative elements in the angles, characteristic of late Valois billon coinage. The cross is boldly rendered and dominates the flan, enclosed within a beaded border. The surrounding legend SIT NOMEN DEI, meaning 'Blessed be the Name of God,' runs in uncial Latin script around the periphery, introduced by a cross pommee. The flan is irregular with edge nicks typical of hammered production. The strike shows variable depth, with some letters partially off-flan. |
