| Beschrijving keerzijde | Saint George depicted in full armour, standing and facing right, holding a shield in his left hand and a lance or sword in his right, in the act of slaying a dragon prostrate at his feet. The figure is rendered in the bold, simplified style typical of late 15th-century north Italian hammered coinage. The surrounding legend reads S GEORGIVS, identifying the patron saint, separated by ornamental cross stops. The entire device is set within the irregular flan characteristic of struck billon issues of the Lordship of Mesocco. |
