Obverse description Central field depicts the Holy Blood relic of Mantua — a stylized representation of the Precious Blood of Christ, shown as a chalice or reliquary vessel surmounted by a cross, rendered in low relief consistent with hammered billon coinage. Two adoring figures, draped in flowing robes, kneel in devotion on either side of the reliquary, their hands raised in veneration. The mint mark 'MA' appears in the lower exergue, identifying the Mantua Mint. The circumferential Latin legend reads TABER SANG XPI IESV, abbreviated from 'Tabernaculum Sanguinis Christi Jesu', referencing the sacred relic of the Holy Blood venerated at Mantua.
