Obverse description A standing allegorical female figure in classical drapery holds a caduceus in her left hand and rests her right arm on a floral branch, flanked by two steam locomotives. She stands between two heraldic shields inscribed LA SEINE and LA LOIRE, representing Paris and Orléans respectively, each topped with a mural crown. Floral and fruit garlands appear in the lower field, and the engraver's signature A. BOVY F. is incused along the lower border.
