Reverse description The reverse bears a multi-line Arabic inscription in the field, recording the mint name and regnal year. The legend reads that the coin was struck in Constantinople (Kostantiniyye) in year 1187 of the Hijri calendar, with the regnal year (year 1) indicated by the numeral ١ above the main inscription. A dotted or pellet border frames the field on this hammered flan, characteristic of Ottoman para coinage of this period.
