Obverse description Central field occupied by the imperial tughra of Sultan Abdul Hamid I, rendered in the characteristic Ottoman calligraphic style with flowing sere (vertical strokes), beyze (oval loops), and hancer (curved tail) elements. The tughra is struck in relatively high relief against a granular hammered field, typical of late 18th-century Egyptian provincial coinage. A beaded or rope border encircles the design along the coin's periphery. The die work reflects the hand-engraved provincial character of the Cairo mint. The overall presentation is that of a compressed, somewhat irregular flan consistent with hammered billon issues of this period.

Obverse lettering عبد الحميد بن أحمد خان المظفر دائماً
