Reverse description The reverse bears a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged in three registers across the central field, reading the mint and date formula. The upper register carries the regnal year numeral, the middle lines bear the phrase indicating the place of striking, and the lower register records the Hijri year 1187. The legends are executed in a cursive Ottoman script, with numerals placed prominently above the mint name. The hammered flan produces a slightly uneven surface, and a beaded border frames the inscription field. The overall layout is consistent with Ottoman provincial para coinage struck at Misr (Cairo).
