Reverse description The reverse presents a similarly crude hammered field with a prominent splayed or fan-like radiating design, possibly representing a stylized floral or solar motif, a common decorative convention on Maratha copper coinage of this period. Several raised linear striations emanate from a central point, flanked by small pellets or globular bosses in the field. The lower portion of the field is divided by a horizontal line, a feature found on multiple Maratha paisa varieties attributed to this reign. The planchet edges are irregular and show the characteristic flan preparation of provincial hammered coinage, with the surface exhibiting a dark chocolate-brown patina overlying the copper substrate.
