Rewa's copper coinage of this period was issued under Jai Singh Deo, who ruled the state during a particularly turbulent phase of British paramountcy consolidation in Bundelkhand and the surrounding Baghelkhand region. The East India Company was systematically pressuring smaller princely states toward currency standardization, making locally struck issues like this one increasingly short-lived as instruments of trade.
KM#11 is among the less documented types in Rewa's sequence, and surviving examples in any condition are infrequently offered.
