Aanvullende informatie

Jhabua was a small Rajput-ruled state in the Malwa region of central India, and its local copper coinage persisted well into the period of British paramountcy largely because the Crown had little incentive to enforce uniformity in the most marginal denominations. Gopal Singh ruled Jhabua from 1846 until his death in 1879, and the paisa issues attributed to his reign reflect the loose administrative grip that characterized the smaller princely states — minting was irregular, dies were crudely cut, and output figures were never recorded.

KM#17 is the only copper type catalogued for his reign.
