| Additional information |
Sailana was among the smallest of the Rajput princely states in Malwa, never exceeding a few hundred square miles, yet it maintained its own copper coinage well into the late nineteenth century. Dulhe Singh ruled from 1880 to 1895, and this paisa was struck during a period when the British administration was steadily pressuring smaller states to abandon independent minting in favor of colonial currency — making late local issues from minor Malwa states increasingly short-lived.
