Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King Jan II Kazimierz Waza facing right, depicted in armor with an elaborately rendered cuirass and lace cravat visible at the shoulder. The king's hair falls in long curls beneath the laurel wreath. The peripheral Latin legend runs clockwise around the effigy, separated from the inner field by a beaded border. The portrait is rendered in high relief in a vigorous Baroque style characteristic of mid-17th century Polish coinage.
