| Obverse description | Crowned and draped bust of King John II Casimir Vasa facing right, wearing armour with a lace collar and a closed royal crown, his long hair falling to the shoulders. The denomination numeral '18' appears to the right of the effigy in the field, with the last two digits of the date split to either side. The circular Latin legend surrounding the portrait reads IO CASIM D G REX POL M D L RVS PRVS, abbreviated titles proclaiming him King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania, Russia, and Prussia. The legend is separated from the central design by an inner beaded border. |
