Reverse description The crowned civic arms of Gdańsk — two silver crosses on a field divided per fess — displayed within a baroque curved shield surmounted by a royal crown and a cross, flanked on either side by a lion passant guardant in high relief acting as shield supporters. The mint date appears at the conclusion of the peripheral legend. The overall composition reflects the city's proud municipal autonomy within the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth.
