Obverse description A rectangular plaquette divided into three relief panels: the left panel depicts a kneeling nude male figure planting a tree, with Latin text above; the central panel features a circular medallion with the head of John the Baptist on a platter inscribed PATRONVS WRATISLAVIAE, below which a ten-line German inscription commemorates the opening of the Silesian Museum on 27 November 1899, flanked at the base by crossed laurel branches; the right panel shows a seated female figure studying a vase beside a young male figure, an Ionic capital, and a sculptural bust at lower right, with a German quotation from Goethe in the upper field.
