Obverse description Conjoined busts left of Johann Goercke and Otto von Schjerning in high relief within a raised inner circle, the foreground bust wearing a military uniform with collar insignia. The surrounding border features four laurel sprays at the cardinal points, with the name GOERCKE at top and v.SCHJERNING at bottom, flanked by the dates 1797 and 1910. A small engraver's signature appears in the field to the right of the busts.

Reverse description A detailed perspective view of the Kaiser Wilhelms-Akademie building in high relief occupies the central field, framed by a recessed architectural border. Two standing allegorical statues flank the building, one to each side. The curved legend at top reads ZUR ERINNERUNG A.D. EINWEIHUNG and at the bottom DER KAISER-WILHELMS-AKADEMIE, with a decorative wreath ornament below the building in the lower field.
