| Obverse description | Mounted warrior in right profile, seated on a rearing horse, wielding a couched lance in the right hand. The composition conveys vigorous movement characteristic of Hellenistic civic coinage from Asia Minor. Below the horse, the Greek letter Δ (delta) appears as a mark of value within the field. The die work is bold and expressive, typical of the Magnesian mint's output in the mid-second century BC. |
