| Obverse description | Griffin seated to left, its right forepaw raised in a characteristic alert posture, with prominently rendered eagle's head, erect feathered wings, and leonine hindquarters finely detailed in archaic style. The creature is depicted with great vitality, the musculature of the haunches and the curvature of the wing rendered with accomplished die-cutting. A beaded border frames the design. The partial civic magistrate's name legend ΠΕΡΙ appears in Greek characters in the lower left field, identifying the issuing authority. |

| Reverse description | Quadripartite incuse square of archaic type, formed by two intersecting raised ridges dividing the sunken surface into four recessed rectangular compartments of roughly equal size. The incuse pattern is deeply struck and characteristic of early Greek coinage production technique, serving as the anvil die impression. The field of each compartment shows a granular, unworked surface consistent with early fifth-century Thracian mint practice. |
