Obverse description Maimonides is depicted in high relief as the 'Great Eagle', his winged figure surmounting a map of the Mediterranean world, with stars marking the regions where he lived and worked. The central field bears large Hebrew letters forming the acronym 'Rambam', with his full name and Hebrew life dates in smaller lettering below. Along the lower border, a bilingual legend in Hebrew and Latin script reads the anniversary inscription and the traditional phrase 'From Moses to Moses, none arose as Moses'.

Reverse description The reverse is divided into two distinct relief zones: the left half features the titles of Maimonides' major works rendered in large stylized Hebrew letters, while the right half depicts Maimonides seated at a writing desk, scribing with his right hand, with an astrolabe and a mortar and pestle visible beside him. Above the figure, a Hebrew inscription reads 'Accept the truth from the one who says it', followed by Maimonides' signature in relief.
