| Reverse description | Eagle displayed with wings spread, standing to right upon a coiling serpent that rises upward to the right, the whole composition rendered with vigorous Hellenistic craftsmanship. The ethnic XAΛKI appears in the left field and the magistrate name APIΣTEIΔHΣ in the right field, both in Greek characters. The reverse type continues the long-standing Chalkidian coinage tradition associating the city's eagle symbol with the eponymous nymph on the obverse. |
