Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valerian I facing right, depicted from a rear three-quarter perspective, conveying a sense of martial authority. The radiate crown, a hallmark of imperial solar imagery, surmounts the head. The legend AYT K Π Λ OYAΛЄPIANOC is inscribed in Greek characters around the bust, identifying the emperor by his abbreviated titles and name. The drapery and cuirass are rendered with typical provincial workshop detail characteristic of Cilician civic coinage of the mid-third century AD.
