| Obverse description | Radiate and draped bust of Gallienus facing right, with cuirass visible at the shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial style typical of Laconian civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. A partial Greek legend encircles the bust, reading ΓΑΛΛΙΗΝΟΝ ΑΥΓΟΥ, acclaiming the emperor in the accusative case as Augustus. The portrait displays the characteristic features of Gallienus with a pronounced radiate crown. The field shows moderate wear consistent with circulation. |
