The emperor's effigy is rendered in moderately high relief against a flat field, with drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder. The denomination mark Δ ε (= 8 assaria) appears in the upper field, flanked by the letters S and C (Senatus Consulto) to the left and right respectively. The circular peripheral legend ANTIOXIΩN MH KO identifies the coin as issued by the Antiochenes with the status of metropolis and colonia. |
