| Obverse description | Facing or slightly left-turned royal bust of Sancho VI rendered in crude medieval style, the effigy enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The king's head is depicted with schematic facial features characteristic of 12th-century Navarrese coinage. The circumferential Latin legend reads SHNCIVS REX, identifying the issuer as King Sancho, and runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible on this irregularly struck hammered piece. |
