| Reverse description | A plain cross with wedge-shaped arms occupies the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle; small pellets or annulets appear in the angles of the cross, consistent with the Agramunt mint style. A circular Latin legend reading +VRGELLENSIS runs between the inner beaded circle and an outer beaded border, identifying the county of Urgell as the issuing authority. |

Ponce I of Cabrera held the County of Urgell through his wife Gueraua, and his coinage reflects the administrative instability of a county that passed through multiple dynastic hands across the thirteenth century. This obol — the half-unit struck for small daily transactions — survives in far lower numbers than the corresponding dinero, an expected ratio that becomes more pronounced in billon issues where the thinner flans were especially vulnerable to loss and damage in circulation.
