| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central device depicting what appears to be a stylized eagle or bird displayed within a beaded inner circle, rendered in the rough, schematic manner typical of small hammered billon coins of the period. The circumferential legend COMTESA VRGL, identifying the issuer as Countess of Urgell, runs between the inner beaded border and an outer beaded rim. The flan is irregular and slightly cracked at the edges, consistent with the thin hammered fabric of this denomination. The design elements, though worn, convey the heraldic imagery associated with the County of Urgell in the early 13th century. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Aurembiaix of Urgell inherited the county in 1209 after her father Ermengol VIII died without male heirs, but Catalan custom and baronial pressure forced her into a prolonged fight to hold it. By 1228 she had ceded the county to James I of Aragon in exchange for his military support and recognition of her authority — a deal that effectively ended Urgell's independence within a generation. This obol was struck during that narrow window when she held nominal comital authority.
Billon coinage of this weight from Agramunt is among the most fragile survivors of Catalan feudal issues.
