Obverse description A broad plain cross with extended arms divides the field into four quarters, its limbs cutting through the surrounding circular legend. The inscription reads °VRBS in Latin characters, partially obscured by the spread of the cross. The flan is irregular and somewhat worn, consistent with hammered billon coinage of the period. The design is characteristically sparse, reflecting the anonymous feudal coinage style of the Bishopric of Viviers.
