| Reverse description | Central device consisting of a bold pattée cross with slightly concave arms, set within a beaded inner circle, typical of Provençal feudal coinage of the Angevin period. The cross arms are broad and well-defined, filling most of the inner field. The surrounding circular Latin legend in uncial characters reads COM PVINCI, abbreviated for Comes Provinciae (Count of Provence), separated by an annulet and introduced by a cross pattée, all set on an irregularly shaped hammered billon flan. |
