背面描述 The reverse displays a centrally placed architectural or episcopal motif, featuring a prominent pointed structure — possibly a stylised tower or mitre — flanked by two pattée or Greek crosses in the lower field. A small pellet or annulet appears in the upper right field. Two subsidiary figures or drapery elements frame the central device, echoing the obverse composition in a characteristic Friesach bracteate-style transfer impression. The incuse or weakly struck areas are consistent with the thin hammered flan of this denomination. No inscription is present.

附加信息

Friesach pennies — and their fractional obol derivatives — were among the most widely circulated coins in the medieval eastern Alpine and Adriatic trade zone, accepted well beyond Carinthian borders into Hungary, Bohemia, and the Dalmatian coast. By the mid-thirteenth century, the type had been so extensively imitated by regional ecclesiastical and secular authorities that attribution to a specific issuer is often impossible without die-linking studies. The "undetermined marks" designation here reflects exactly that problem.

The Duchy of Carinthia changed hands between the Sponheim and Habsburg spheres during this period, complicating mint authority records further.
