Obverse description Zeus Lykaios enthroned in profile to right, his draped figure rendered in the severe style characteristic of early Classical coinage. The deity holds a long scepter in one hand while an eagle, rendered in flight, departs from his outstretched hand toward the right. The composition fills the flan with bold, confident engraving typical of Arcadian mint practice of the mid-fifth century BC.
