Obverse description Highly stylized and schematically rendered head in profile, characteristic of late Celto-Ligurian coinage of the Salyes tribe. The facial features are reduced to abstract linear elements, with the hair rendered as a series of parallel striated lines fanning across the field. The design reflects the progressive geometric abstraction typical of second- to first-century BC Gaulish silver fractions. The flan is irregular and slightly scyphate, a common trait of hammered Celtic obols of this period.
