Obverse description Draped bust of Shapur I facing right, wearing a distinctive mural tiara surmounted by a prominent korymbos (globe of hair enclosed in fabric) with an ear flap, rendered in the characteristic Sasanian court style. The king's elaborate curled beard and hair are depicted in fine detail, with pearl-beaded collar visible at the neck. A circular Inscriptional Pahlavi legend surrounds the royal effigy within a beaded border, proclaiming the king's titles and epithets.

Reverse description A fire altar depicted centrally in profile, with flames rising from the altar's cup, flanked by two royal attendants standing in facing positions and turned outward, each wearing a mural crown. The figures are rendered in the formal Sasanian court style, their robes shown with stylized drapery. A Inscriptional Pahlavi legend is disposed in the fields to either side of the altar, identifying the king and his royal titles within a beaded border.
