Obverse description Central fleur-de-lis depicted within a beaded inner circle, rendered in the coarse hammered style typical of Catalan feudal coinage. A Latin legend encircles the central device, reading BARCINO, identifying the issuing city of Barcelona. The flan is irregular and slightly off-centre, as is characteristic of small medieval billon fractions. The lettering, though partially weak in areas due to die wear and imperfect striking, remains largely legible around the periphery.
