Obverse description Central fleur-de-lis rendered in relief within a beaded inner circle, the stylized petals clearly articulated in the Romanesque hammered tradition. The surrounding field carries a retrograde or partially retrograde Latin legend naming the city of Barcelona. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, characteristic of early medieval Catalan coinage, with the legend partially visible due to the small module of this half-dinero denomination.
