| Obverse description | Central field depicts a crowned royal bust or head facing, surmounted by a prominent crown with pellets, rendered in the crude hammered style typical of early 13th-century Aragonese billon coinage. The surrounding legend reads PETR REX, identifying the issuer as Peter II of Aragon. The die work is bold but irregular, with weakly struck areas characteristic of the hammered technique. The flan is irregular and shows typical medieval planchet defects. The overall design follows the conventions of contemporary Iberian feudal coinage. |
