Reverse description A central cross with flared arms dominates the design, with two six-pointed stars and two globules placed alternately in the four quarters. The cross is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, beyond which the abbreviated legend TVLLI appears in the field, identifying the see of Toul. The overall composition is characteristic of Lotharingian episcopal obol coinage of the second half of the 12th century, struck on a thin, irregularly shaped flan.
