| Obverse description | A plain cross with an annulet at its center occupies the field, its arms extending toward the inner beaded circle. The Latin legend BARQINONA (Barcelona) runs continuously around the periphery, contained between an inner beaded circle and an outer beaded border. The overall style is characteristic of medieval Catalan hammered billon coinage, with an irregular flan and somewhat weak strike typical of the period. |
