| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central fire altar with stepped base depicted in frontal elevation, flanked by two attendants or fire-altar guardians standing in profile facing inward, rendered in schematic Sasanian style. Two tridents or attendant symbols flank the altar shaft, consistent with Sasanian fire-altar iconography of the mid-fifth century. The mint mark 'BYŠ' (Bishapur) appears in the field, identifying the place of issue. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. The engraving is bold but somewhat crude, as is typical of the smaller obol denomination struck at Bishapur under Peroz I. |
