Reverse description A lion strides purposefully to the left across a ground line, its head turned to face the viewer in a classic heraldic pose. Above the lion, a winged solar disk with pendant volutes dominates the upper field, a device emblematic of Achaemenid royal and divine authority. The composition reflects the strong Persian artistic influence prevalent in Cilician satrapal coinage of the fourth century BC.
