Reverse description The mint name TVLLO is inscribed in a single horizontal line across the centre of the flan, identifying the episcopal city of Toul as the place of issue. The lettering is in broad, somewhat crude Carolingian capitals typical of provincial Carolingian minting practice. The reverse field is otherwise plain, and the flan shows significant flan cracks and surface wear consistent with circulation.
